5 steps for a seamless collab.
Whether you need visuals for real estate, furniture pieces, architecture or interior design; each new project should start with the adequate preparation. It may not be completely true that if you fail to prepare then you’re preparing to fail, but it certainly plays a huge part in success and outcome of a project.
Below are five key steps to take into consideration before engaging with any CGI studio and have those smashing success visuals.
1 — Embracing a vision.
First and foremost, having a clear and concrete vision of the project essence is a must. Unless the CGI studio is in charge of the branding and marketing; a concrete idea of what you want to portray is crucial for building a solid foundation. This will not only speed up the whole working process but on the long-run this is what the end-client / buyer will perceive, so it should be clear and on point.
You don't just want to show the wall’s distribution, you want to show what their new life could be like through a fine thought narrative.
2 — Having clear objectives.
It's important to remember that the visuals are not the end result, but the medium to achieve a certain goal. We have to ask our self’s the question: What do we want to achieve with the images? Is it sell units? Having more exposure? Who is our potential buyer?
This is an early discussion which the CGI studio should provide guidance on. Each unique goal has not only a different end result but a different process as well. At MRK we aim to ask all the important questions at the outset to ensure the campaign is a successful one. We know that mood, colors and emotions plays an important role at the time of capturing attention, so we combine them to ensure a targeted successful outcome.
We don’t only want to create “appealing” visuals; we want to know what would be a home-run for you and achieve exactly that.
“Without having a goal, it´s difficult to score” - Paul Arden
3 — Picking the correct medium.
This step is closely related with the purpose of the images. Which medium works best depends directly on the objectives, marketing strategy and end-client / audience.
Are the visuals going to be mainly for social media? Or for the website portfolio? Maybe a big Banner ad.? Or is it Virtual Reality for a more immersive experience?
All this factors will determine what type of visuals are needed and the scope of work.
4 — Create a solid brief.
Once we have a vision, a goal and a defined medium comes the next step: sending all the available information to your 3d studio for them to analyze and understand the project as a whole. Providing as much detail as possible will prevent delays but also ensure an accurate final result.
Ideally, a detailed brief would include:
Visual references of materials, finishes and overall mood.
CAD Drawings / Revit model with layout, sections and definitive facades.
Specification of equipment if necessary (furnishing models must be detailed).
5 — Trust the CGI studio
Think of us more of your creative partner rather than a “hired-help”. We are not just artist; we are advisors. We help to guide our partners through the process of creating the simplest and most effective visuals. We have travelled this path countless times and know how to evade common mistakes and benefit from the opportunities. The value we provide is not measured only by the quality or quantity of the visuals but on the success of the overall campaign.
Remember that your success, will be our success.
